Yeah, But It’s Tennessee

So, just out of curiosity the other night, Marcus was looking up the price of land in Bumpus Mill, TN (where we went fishing). You can get an acre of lakefront property for $5 grand or less. Hm, it would be tempting if Bumpus Mills was actually close to anything besides Fort Campbell, KY. I would be soooo bored living there. There isn't even a Starbucks close by, that's how rural it is. We'd have to go back to satellite Internet, too. No thanks. I reminded Marcus that there are no real mountains to go mountain biking, closest civilization is Nashville, no friends close by, no tech work.

If only lakefront land in Colorado cost $5,000 an acre.

Finally…Photos!

I finally got around to uploading all the vacation pictures in the Tennessee Vacation 2004 Photo Album. I don't know if they're interesting to anybody but me, but hey, check them out if you want to. Captions will come later as I get time.

I Love Dill

I found some Dill Flavored Sunflower seeds while travelling through Kansas. They sounded kind of gross and I passed on buying some as we headed east. On the way back, however, I decided to grab a bag to try and they're actually pretty good. Of course, they're made by the Spitz company and I already am addicted to their Seasoned Seeds and their pumpkin seeds are pretty decent.

Gotta Go Back, Back to School Again*

Current mood: bearmood — excited excited
Today was my first day back at school after the whole leave of absence thing. It felt really good to be around my old friends again. I really missed being there. I'm taking one class this 10 weeks because of my transfer credits. It's called Personal Communication and meets every Wednesday. The teacher seems to be awesome.

The horrible realization hit me, when I saw the notice on the door, that the art show is next week and I have to do my portfolio presentation. Dang, where did the time go since last year's art show? Submissions are also due on Monday and I had all these plans of things I was going to do for entries. *sigh* The accident took care of that. Maybe next year. I have to be more concerned with getting my work caught up that I missed.

Being away from work was really good for my back and my stress level. I've really got to make an effort to take vacations more often.

I had all these things I wanted to say about my trip, but danged if I can remember any of them right at the moment. I hate it when that happens. Maybe I'll remember them at work in the morning and I'll make notes. Oh, well.

On that note, I guess I had better get to bed so I can get up in a few hours. I've vowed to myself that I will do everything in my power to never actually see my boss again (I loathe him that much right now). I also need to get my desktop Windows box going again tomorrow. I put the OS on a separate hard drive and now I need to reload all my programs. Fun stuff.

G'night!

Tired, but…

We’re home!

Will write more about the trip tomorrow after work. I uploaded the post I made earlier that wouldn't take. Read "Trip to Tennessee: Days 4 through 6" for the entire post.
